Lawyer and Law Office Support Services
Most lawyers are overworked. Because many law firms are cutting staff due to economic conditions, fewer people are doing more work. Andrew Weiss provides contract-based legal support services for those in need, and as needed. Thanks to the internet and electronic documentation and filing, just about all of this work can be done electronically from Mr. Weiss’ office, no matter where his client is located. SERVICES OFFERED:

Document review. Mr. Weiss reviews discovery documents for relevance and privilege (note: he does not use proprietary electronic document review software). He also reviews contracts, complaints, discovery requests and other documents to determine whether the documents will achieve the end which the attorney seeks to achieve.
Document Drafting. Mr. Weiss will draft litigation-related documents, including: complaints, discovery requests, briefs, proposed findings and orders; contracts, offer of settlement letters, notices and all similar documents; and communications to clients and to other attorneys. Lawyers use his services to create the initial draft as well as to provide the final polish. Mr. Weiss prefers to write documents in plain English to improve clarity and effectiveness.
Legal Research. Mr. Weiss researches topics to help determine an appropriate course of action and provides detailed memoranda of various approaches to each problem presented, along with a recommendation of how best to proceed. Lawyers frequently combine this service with drafting court-related documents and settlement proposal letters.
Case Consultation. Mr. Weiss consults with other lawyers both on pending cases and on accepting new ones. He does these consultations either by telephone or by webcam conferences (utilizing AIM, iChat or Skype).

ECONOMIC EFFECTIVENESS:

Mr. Weiss keeps his rates reasonable, especially considering his experience and education. His intention is to give the lawyers for whom he works the potential to bill his services at a 100% markup. Most lawyers have found Mr. Weiss’ services to be reasonably priced, without the added costs and headaches associated with full- or part-time employment.

Mr. Weiss has experience in the following areas. He is also a quick learner, and has learned areas such as medical certificate-of-need law with relatively brief exposure.
